Safe Design

With all platform lifts, it is important that the design incorporates features that provide comfort, safety and security to both the user and property owner.

User Control

Designated User Control (DUC) prevents unauthorised use of a lift. Once the lift has not been used for a preset time, it moves away from the landing it was parked at and stops between floors. This activates all the automatic door interlocks, making the unit totally secure and preventing any of the doors being opened.

Prevent Falls

With lifts over two metres, it is mandatory that the lift is protected in a full enclosure that forms an integral part of the lift installation. This will prevent a person falling from it or becoming trapped beneath the unit.

Communication

All our platform lifts are fitted with an alarm button. An emergency two-way communication system, which can be operated from a wheelchair, is a feature on our larger enclosed lifts. This includes a telephone handset that connects to the outside world so that assistance can be requested in the event of a problem.
