New Addition to the Family

The Companion Extreme is the latest addition to our comprehensive Companion platform lift range. It is specifically designed for low rise, outdoor applications, being manufactured from weatherproof material throughout. All the structural components are fabricated from a combination hot dip galvanised or powder coated steel and the motor casing and lifting platform are finished in salt water resistant aluminium. The upper and lower access gates are moulded from impact resistant plastic.

Extreme's real appeal is that it is genuinely free standing as the power pack and hydraulic drive system are built into the lift structure. With its own base plate, the Extreme compensates for uneven ground conditions.

The Extreme is available for travel heights between 500 mm and two metres and has a platform measuring 1420 x 900mm. It has power operated gates, fitted as standard, which means that a wheelchair user can use the lift completely independently. A pressure sensitive plate on the underside of the platform ensures that the lift stops immediately, on contact with any object. In common with all products in the Companion range, Extreme comes as a standard, fully self-contained unit. Installation is, therefore, very straightforward.

We have recently installed the first Extreme at Beefeater's Manor Farm restaurant in Rainham, Kent (pictured). It enables wheelchair users and families with pushchairs to reach the main entrance, which is at the top of a short flight of steps.
